The African Studies Association of Africa (ASA-Africa), the African Studies Association in the US (ASA-US), the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora (ASWAD) and Africa Is a Country (AIAC) will convene a multi-site Congress throughout 2023 in order to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity and the 50th anniversary of the Third International Congress of African Studies. (ICAADS) stands at the forefront, serving as a dynamic platform for scholars, researchers, and academics to exchange ideas and knowledge on various aspects of African and Diaspora studies.
These contributions will be meticulously consolidated to create a comprehensive Congress Paper, which will serve as a foundation to the collective wisdom and expertise of the participants.
In 2024, these findings will also be shared in documentary format at a special plenary session hosted by Africa Is a Country. To assist us in the planning of the 2024 Plenary, we invite attendees of these conferences to provide feedback on the ICAADS sessions.
